A Tree and a Visit
So Friday afternoon Jason took Heather with him on his way to work and dropped her off with Cindy. She was staying the night and they were hitting Disney with some other family members (no, Mikey didn't wanna go).
Apparently a great time was had. Cindy's friend Caroline came over with her daughter Rowan (turned 3 in October) and they went to McDonald's and then back to Caroline's for the girls to play. Heather had a great time!
Saturday they did breakfast with Granny and Grampy at Cracker Barrel and then a bit later they went to Disney to do some shopping and check out the Christmas lights. She didn't get home till 9:30, quite beat!
While she was gone we took Mikey to see Santa Claus (no, Heather didn't wanna go). It was abit of a wait and Mikey was pretty overwhelmed but still clearly happy and in a good mood so I didn't worry too much. We didn't have a camera, only Jason's phone for pics, so they aren't great but I will post a link at the end.
Today Mom came over with some burgers and hung out for a bit as we decided to put the Christmas Tree up. We haven't put up the big tree since Heather was a baby for obvious reasons. I am glad we did this year, it looks so nice.

And a few more! Santa and the Tree

Happy 3rd Birthday Heather
3 years ago right about now we were arriving at the hospital. I remember having to stop every 5 minutes or so on the trip from the parking lot to the hospital for contractions. Those things were awful.
Her birth was uncomplicated and beautiful. She was a handful from the second she popped out but she combats that with being absolutely adorable. It is SO hard to believe she's three.
She is a brat with a capital B. She is regularly sent to her room for purposely doing things she knows better than to do. She will push buttons she knows should not push. Get into things she knows she should not get into.
But she loves to help. She helps me with laundry, cleaning up, recycling, making the bed, anything I need to do she's right behind me "Can I help?"
She loves to sing. Anytime a song comes on she comes up to me and we sing together. We sing before bed. We sing in the car. Yeah, she's her mother's daughter alright. Maybe she'll do karaoke like me too :)
She's a total girly girl (UNLIKE her mother). She loves to dress up, show off, dance and be a 'princess'. She's as dramatic as the day is long and will work the emotions out of any possible situation in her favor.
And boy is she smart. Not in the single minded photographic memory smart way Mikey is. She's more well rounded. It takes her no time to figure out how to do much of anything. She knows things I never had any idea she knew about till she says or does them. She's got all the basics down for preschool and she's so social and shining, I bet she'd do fantastic.
She is definitely THE baby. I try hard not to cut her breaks just because she's the baby but I am sure I do more than I should. You'll often hear me saying something along the lines of "because she's smaller/younger/ loves her big brother" etc etc in an effort to get Mikey to be more careful with her or do things with her. (For the record she DOES love her brother and wants to do EVERYTHING with him).
She's a handful. But she's the cutest, most adorable and lovable handful I ever could have asked for. Happy Birthday Heather. Mommy loves you.

Our Thanksgiving
I hope everyone had a fun family filled Thanksgiving.Ours was a two day event.
Thursday we went to Jeremy's house. I had made my potatoes Wednesday. It's 7 lbs of peeling, chopping and mashing, you know? So Thursday we didn't have much to do but chill until later in the day.
Mikey didn't do that well :( He could not shut up about computers. I know when that happens it's because he is uncertain about whats going on around him or how to handle it. He talks computer talk because that's something he knows ...something that's concrete he can stick to.
It's hard to handle,I'll be honest. How many times can I hear about Windows 95 on VMware before I wanna shoot myself? But then I see him get that look in his eyes.. the look where he's lost and he's struggling to find somewhere he can feel safe.. and I melt. He's my baby.. this isn't his fault and I have to try and help him deal with his issues as best I can.
The dinner itself was good... lots of food, family and fun. No Dad :( But he should be home for Christmas. :) They also celebrated December birthdays. Heather got new clothes, a baby doll with a stroller and Dr kit, and the Dora talking backpack. She was thrillllllled. That baby goes everywhere with her.

Friday was another lazy day. Saturday we hit up my Mom's for T-giving with her.
This was my firts time ever cooking a turkey. Mom told me to brine it but last minute I realized.. we had like one tbs of salt...she later told me I could have used something else but eh..
SO I cooked it early Saturday morning and hey..I removed the neck but completely missed the giblets. GO ME... regardless it actualy still turned out very good! We had turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, stuffing, green bean casserole and rolls.
I went out to do some Christmas shopping in between. Some family gives us money to get the kids their gifts and I got Heather pretty much taken care of with a Walmart sale. She's got a Disney Princess blanket, pillow and jewelry box, some kids jewelry, a trunk full of dress up supplies, a Furreal kitten and some new jeans.
Mikey will be a bit harder but I got him too. He very much wants new headphones (good ones.. with a warranty for when he breaks them LOL) and a digital clock for his room. He also wantgs Vista Home Premium but that isnt gonna happen.
Tomorrow I am conna decorate for Christmas.. Tuesday I hope to get Heather's birthday pics done and maybe the kid's Christmas pics the weekend. We'll see!!
